Privacy Notice

What runs in your browser

Every text transformation on this site — the generator, the symbol library, the builder, the compatibility checker and the plain-text restorer — runs entirely in your browser. The text you type is not sent to our servers in order to produce a result.

What we measure

Usage measurement is on by default and you can turn it off at any time using the controls at the end of this page. We record page views, which tools you use, which styles you copy, whether the copy succeeded, and technical details such as device type, browser, screen size, language and approximate country.

This is measured on our own servers. It is not shared with advertisers or ad networks, there are no third-party analytics or advertising services on this site, and none of it is used to build a profile of you or to target advertising.

Text you type

We may keep a short excerpt of the text you type in the generator only if you switch that on yourself, using the controls at the end of this page. It is off unless you turn it on, and it is never implied by usage measurement being on.

Because typed text can contain names, addresses, passwords or private messages, several protections apply regardless of your choice: text is only captured after you stop typing rather than keystroke by keystroke, it is truncated before storage, and the server removes email addresses, phone numbers, card-like number sequences, API keys and tokens, and credentials embedded in URLs before anything is written down.

Browser privacy signals

If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we treat that as an instruction and collect nothing at all — usage measurement is not switched on by default for you, and we do not ask you to override the signal.

IP addresses and location

Your IP address is used to derive an approximate country and region and to protect the site from abuse. It is stored encrypted, and analysts working with the data see a masked form by default. Viewing a full IP address requires a separate permission and is recorded in an audit log.

Location derived from an IP address is approximate. It indicates roughly where your network connects, not where you are.

How long we keep things

Text excerpts are deleted after 30 days. Precise IP addresses are deleted or anonymised after 90 days. Aggregated, anonymised counts — how many people used a style in a given week — are kept longer, because they no longer identify anyone.

Deletion runs on a schedule, and each run is logged.

What we do not do

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics services. We do not build a fingerprint from your device characteristics. We do not sell or share personal data. We do not require an account.

Your choices

You can opt out at any time using the controls below, and opting out stops analytics requests being sent from then on. Clearing your browser data removes the pseudonymous identifiers we use to group your visits, along with your saved favourites and templates — and also resets your choice here, because the choice is stored in your browser and nowhere else.
