About this tool
Gothic text here uses Unicode's Fraktur alphabet. Five capitals โ C, H, I, R and Z โ live in the Letterlike Symbols block rather than the Fraktur range, and we substitute them automatically so words render consistently.
Common questions
- Is gothic text the same as a blackletter font?
- Visually similar, technically different. A blackletter font redraws ordinary letters; these are separate Unicode characters that look like blackletter.
- Why do some devices show boxes?
- The Fraktur block is not included in every system font set. Devices without it show an empty box, which you cannot detect or fix from your side.
- Are there gothic numbers?
- No. Unicode defines no Fraktur digits, so numbers are left unchanged.
